Due to the extreme heat, the City of Peekskill will open its cooling center for residents who do not have air conditioning and for those with ailments that may be impacted by high temperatures. The cooling center is located at the Neighborhood Center across from City Hall on the corner of Nelson Avenue and Main Street. The Center will be open today, Tuesday, July 17 and Wednesday July 18, 2012 from 9:00am to 3:00pm in the Library and 3:00pm to 9:00pm in the Nutrition Dining Room.
For additional information, residents can visit www.cityofpeekskill.com or call 914.737.8000. Senior citizens, infants and residents with health conditions are especially encouraged to take advantage of the cooling center.
