Ball Talks Fracking at PCH, Jopling at Winery Sunday, Winter Break

1. Lakeland Board of Education Meeting

The Lakeland BOE will meet at Ben Franklin Elementary School at 7:30 p.m.

2. Scarves for Veterans

About 25 students from the Tech Center at Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES will be visiting veterans at the VA Hospital in Montrose today to give them scarves they made.

3. Daisy Jopling at the Winery Sunday

Peekskill’s own world renowned rock violinist will perform at the Winery at St. Georges on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m.

4. Lakeland School Recess Begins Tomorrow

Lakeland Central School District begins its winter break tomorrow, Hen Hud goes on break Monday and Peekskill on Tuesday. All districts are back in school Monday, Feb. 27.

5. Senator Greg Ball Talks Hydrofracking at the

At 6 p.m. Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson) will give a presentation on  hydraulic fracturing, which he calls a "potentially damaging and poorly regulated method of natural gas extraction still under review by the state Department of Environmental Conservation," at the Peekskill Coffee House.
