Candidates Named for this Year's Peekskill School Board Race

Three school board seats are up for grabs during this year's elections, which takes place at the same time as the district's budget vote on May 21.

The Peekskill school district released the names of the candidates for the three-seat that are up this year for the school board. 

The following people turned in their petitions by Wednesday's 5 p.m. deadline:

Maria Pereira, Adriana Ariza, Jillian Clausen, Shannon Casiano, Rolv (Nick) Nicolaysen and incumbent Michael Simpkins.

Current school board members Tuesday McDonald and Lizbeth Bock are not running for re-election.

The school board vote takes place on May 21, which is the same date as the public budget referendum.

Correction: An earlier version of this story stated that Tuesday McDonald announced that she is not running for re-election. McDonald never made an official announcement that she isn't running again.
