Cops: Woman Gets Stitches After Domestic Incident, Montrose Man Charged

A 27-year-old Montrose man is facing an assault charge after he allegedly hit his girlfriend in the head with a lamp.

Troopers from the Cortlandt barracks arrested Marcelino Crespo in connection with the domestic incident, which police responded to at 3 a.m. Sunday.

The victim was transported to the Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt Manor, where she received stitches on her forehead. Crespo is accused of hitting her with a floor lamp, according to police.

The defendant had fled by the time authorities arrived. Police tracked him down in the Bronx and brought him to the Cortlandt barracks.

Crespo is facing a felony assault charge. He was sent to the Westchester County Jail on $7,500 bail. He's due in Cortlandt Justice Court Monday.
