Cortlandt Police Blotter: Beer Bottle Bandit Hits BP, Face Cream Thief Caught at Kohl's

Sunday, May 5: 

2:28 p.m.

A man who had a court order to retrieve personal property from a residence on Broadie Street asked county police to accompany him there. The home’s occupant had left the man’s possessions on the patio and he was able to retrieve them without entering the home.

1:32 p.m.

Lisa Ferraro, 50, of Locksley Road, Yorktown, was charged with Petit Larceny, a misdemeanor, after she accused of shoplifting by security personnel at Kohl’s department store on Route 6. Ferraro is accused of trying to steal a tube of face cream valued at $35.

Friday, May 3

 6:42 p.m. 

Westchester County Police responded to the parking lot outside the Cortlandt Town Center on a report of a possible dispute. A woman who had brought her daughters to have dinner with her estranged husband said he had become upset when the girls said they did not want to have dinner with him. All parties left without further incident.

Wednesday, May 1

1:32 p.m.

A resident of Furnace Dock Road reported to county police that someone may have tried to enter her home.  The resident found that a rear window screen had been raised while she was out. It did not appear that the home had been entered and no property was missing.

Tuesday, April 30

2:22 p.m. 

County police responded to Baker Street on a report of an emotionally disturbed person who was jumping on the roofs of cars. New York State Police were also on scene and took the man into custody.

Monday, April 29

12:29 p.m.

Westchester County Police responded to Oak Street regarding a property dispute between neighbors after one resident removed a fence that had been erected by another.  Both parties were advised to consult their attorneys in order to resolve the issue.

11:28 p.m.

 An employee at the BP gas station on Route 6 reported to Westchester County Police that a man entered the station’s convenience store, took a bottle of beer from the cooler, and fled the store. An officer canvassed the area but could not locate the suspect.
