Cortlandt Police Blotter: Tire Slashings, Damaged Mailboxes and an Assault with a Novelty Lighter

Wednesday, April 4

9:51 a.m. – In response to a community complaint about overweight trucks on Lafayette Avenue, Westchester County Police began an hour-long observation of the road and found no violations during that time.

Friday, April 5

10:04 p.m. – A resident of a home on Lakeland Avenue reported that someone had thrown eggs at his home.  No permanent damage to the house resulted from the incident.

3:25 p.m. – A resident of a home on Oregon Road reported to county police that she has been receiving harassing text messages from an acquaintance.  

9:33 p.m. – Westchester County Police responded to an activated burglar alarm at a home on Watch Hill Road.  The home was found to be secure.

Wednesday, April 4

9:51 a.m. – In response to a community complaint about overweight trucks on Lafayette Avenue, Westchester County Police began an hour-long observation of the road and found no violations during that time.

Tuesday, April 3

5:19 p.m. – A resident of Trolley Road reported to county police that her mailbox was vandalized while she was away from the house during the day.

7:37 p.m. – A resident of Oregon Road reported to county police that someone slashed three of his tires while his vehicle was parked outside his residence. 

Monday, April 2 

10:37 a.m. – Westchester County Police responded to an activated burglar alarm at a home on Marisa Court in Montrose.  The home was found to be secure.

11:25 a.m. – A Carmel man came to the Westchester County North Command precinct on the advice of his attorney to file a report about an assault he said occurred against him on Sept. 20. The man said he had been in a verbal dispute with a woman at a Cortlandt Manor home when she threw a “novelty lighter” at him, cutting his forehead.  The man said he drove himself to the emergency room at Hudson Valley Hospital Center after the incident and provided copies of hospital paperwork showing he had been treated there on that date.
