Grand Parade to Celebrate Mohegan Volunteer Fire Association's 90th Anniversary

This September, the Association will celebrate with a three day event and parade featuring more than 30 fire departments in Cortlandt.

The Mohegan Volunteer Fire Association is celebrating its 90th anniversary of providing fire and, along with its sister agency, the Mohegan Volunteer Ambulance Corp., emergency services to the people of the Towns of Cortlandt and Yorktown.

In connection with the anniversary, the Mohegan Association is also hosting the annual Westchester County Firemen's Association Convention.  This is a three day event beginning on Sept. 13 with a seminar held at the and ending with a parade on Sept. 15 down Cortlandt Boulevard (Route 6).

More than 30 fire departments from Westchester, Putnam and surrounding counties will participate in the parade, which will proceed down Cortlandt Blvd. and Westbrook Street.

A marching band and each department's fire apparatus will escort each group in the parade.
