Hen Hud Film Festival Scheduled for May

Hendrick Hudson High School will be hosting the 11th Annual Film Festival on May 17 at 6:30 p.m.

Hendrick Hudson High School will be hosting the 11th Annual Film Festival on May 17 at 6:30 p.m.

This year’s festival will feature Hen Hud’s alumnus Jeff Camarra. Jeff will be the Keynote Speaker and will share some clips from his award winning documentary. The night will begin with a Red Carpet event in front of the high school.

Student filmmakers will be arriving by limousine provided by Settembre Limousines and will walk the red carpet, experiencing the glamour of the Academy Awards!Regarded as the premiere high school film festival in the region, the evening will showcase the filmmaking talents of students throughout the tri-state area.

Having received over 90 submissions from over 20 schools, the festival will screen films in the following categories: Music, Video, Animation, Documentary, Drama, PSA and Comedy. Each film will be competing for individual awards as well as the coveted grand prize, "The Andrew W. Jenks Award."

Said festival organizer Paul LaVallee: "I anticipate that this year’s festival will have the greatest talent and films within each category since its inception in 2002 and will amaze the audience and make for an exciting evening. You will be delighted to see what our kids are doing with cameras these days."
