The kindergarteners had fun learning about bats, moths, evergreen trees, and deciduous trees. Using slides, leaves, seeds, and pieces of trees and wood, the children learned how the different tree types survive the seasons.
They also learned about the life cycle of trees-be sure to ask a kindergartener to tell you about a sprout, sapling, and snag! After learning about trees, Ken then shared some cool animals with us. All of the animals are native to our area.

The kindergarteners loved meeting “Cupcake” the corn snake, a turtle, and a barn owl who was rescued and can no longer live in the wild. Finally, the kindergarteners learned about echolocation by playing a game called, “Bat and Moth”. It was a great day with lots of smiles despite the rain!
