Indian Point Fired Employee Who Failed to Report Robbery Arrest
The Nuclear Regulatory Agency reported last week that Entergy appropriately handled the situation.

The Nuclear Regulatory Agency sent a letter to the ’s site vice president last week stating that Entergy appropriately handled the firing of an employee who had been arrested for robbery last year.
The employee, whoworked on office equipment and had unescorted access to Indian Point Energy Center, was arrested on Jan. 4, 2011 for a felony robbery during off-work hours, the NRC said. All employees are required to report arrests to their supervisors but this employee did not report his arrest. The employee's identity was not revealed in the letter.
On March 21, 2011, during a re-investigation Entergy performed to maintain the employee’s unescorted access, he signed a document that indicated he had not had any arrests. During that re-investigation his arrest was discovered. As a result Entergy removed his unescorted access and terminated his employment. The company also updated his personal access data system entry, something all power plants have access to, in order to reflect the unfavorable termination.
