UPDATE: Man Found Walking Naked in Peekskill Sent to Hospital for Mental Evaluation

Police said the man appeared to be under the influence of drugs at the time of his arrest.

Update, 3 p.m.: A man who was found walking naked in Peekskill Wednesday afternoon was transported to the Hudson Valley Medical Center in Cortlandt Manor for a psychological evaluation.

Police initially though the man, who is in his early 20s, was under the influence of drugs.

Upon further investigation, police determined that he was having psychological issues and they decided not to press charges.

Peekskill police picked up a naked man walking  in the area of Washington Street Wednesday at about 2 p.m.

Police Sgt. Raymond Henderlong said the man appeared to be under the influence of drugs when he was picked up.

Henderlong said the man was being processed Wednesday evening, but was unable to provide additional information on the man’s identity or the charges that were being filed.

Police are expected to release additional details on the arrest later today.
