Montrose Child Care Center Welcomes in the Warm Weather with New Toddler Playground
An Entergy grant supplied the funding for the playground.

From the Montrose Child Care Center: ter, a non-profit nursery school and child care center located on the tree-lined grounds of the Montrose Veterans Affairs campus, celebrated a new addition to their toddler playground. Thanks to a generous grant received from Entergy, the company that runs nearby in Buchanan, funding was secured for a new, toddler-friendly playground set.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place at the Center on Thursday May 24th, with representatives from Entergy and the Veterans Administration, parents, children and staff all helping to cut the ribbon on the brand-new equipment which was immediately put to good use.
Eileen Scerra, Executive Director of Montrose Child Care Center spoke: "In our eyes, playgrounds provide crucial and vital opportunities for children to play. They provide a safe environment designed specifically to foster and enhance opportunities for growth. There is substantial research that shows the clear link between play and development, motor-skills, and social capabilities.”
