New Leaders in Peekskill BID

John Sharpe, Amy Harte, Christine Bobolia and Ken Laudon will serve as the BID board members for the next two years.

Peekskill Business Improvement District Director Jason Angell announced the winners of the BIDs election for owner board members and tenant board members Tuesday.

There was no competition for the owner positions, as only two people were running for three open spots. So Christine Bobolia, owner of B&K Homes at 104 S. Division St., and Ken Laudon, owner of at 23 N. Division St., are the two owner board members. Bobolia garnered 11 votes, Laudon won 17 votes.

John Sharpe, owner of the and Amy Harte, owner of 3&Co. Design Lab at 23 N. Division were elected as the new tenant board members. Sharpe won 19 votes and Harte won 17. All serve a two-year term and are volunteer positions.

A total of 37 out of about 140 BID members voted in the election. Angell said he was not pleased with the turn out but that the number was slightly higher than last year's.

All board members elected except Bobolia are new to the BID board.

The BID consists of 11 members: 6 are elected to represent owners of property (the BID board only has 5 right now,) 2 are elected to represent commercial tenants of property, 1 member designee of the City Manager of Peekskill (Brian Havranek), 1 member designee of the Comptroller of the City of Peekskill (Charles Emberger) and 1 member designee the Common Counil of Peekskill (who is Andrew Torres).

The votes were certified by three members of the BID Board serving as the Election Committee (Chair Jeanette Phillips, Councilman Andrew Torres, and Frank Cimino).

At the next board meeting, the board will sign and approve the official election result certification documents and will elect the new executive team, which includes BID Chair and other leadership positions.
