Peekskill Affordable Rental Apartments Accepting Applications

The deadline to apply is the end of March, according to the Housing Action Council.

PEEKSKILL, NY — A new development will bring more than 80 affordable rental apartments to the city of Peekskill.

Housing Action Council said the site is being developed by WBP Development LLC, and the 82 new apartments will be ready for occupancy in late spring.

The development includes 18 one-bedroom, 49 two-bedroom and 14 three-bedroom apartments, as well as an apartment for a building superintendent, according to a news release.

Nineteen of the apartments are affordable to households with incomes at or below 40 percent of the Westchester County Median Income; 17 at or below 50 percent; 12 at or below 60 percent; 17 at or below 70 percent; and 16 at or below 80 percent.

The rents range from $1,040 to $2,883, the council said.

Applicants with mobility or sensory impairments will have a preference for the apartments with special design features of which there are five for those with a mobility impairment and two for those with a sensory impairment.

The deadline for applying is March 20. The lottery will be held on Zoom at 3 p.m. March 31.

WBP Development LLC is a Westchester-based real estate development company with a long history in building, constructing and managing affordable housing. It developed Roundtop Commons in Cortlandt, Chappaqua Crossing in the town of New Castle, Bridleside Apartments in the town of North Salem and Lewisboro Commons in the town of Lewisboro. WBP also developed residential communities in New Rochelle and is developing in the villages of Tarrytown and Ossining.
