PEEKSKILL, NY — The city of Peekskill is beginning work on a comprehensive plan for the city and has begun identifying funding for the project.

Matt Alexander, the city manager, said that one of the funding possibilities is through a state grant.

In the application, input from the public that they are interested in having an updated comprehensive plan is important, he said.

Among the questions are whether you live in Peekskill, whether you rent or own, your age group and why you chose Peekskill in which to live.

The survey also asks what you think should be Peekskill's greatest focus for improvement and to what the city should direct most taxpayer-funded investment.

Additionally, the public is being asked to weigh in on which land uses should be encouraged or discouraged in Peekskill.

Choices include accessory dwelling units, affordable housing, "green" building construction and more public green space.
