Peekskill, Cortlandt Meet Tonight; Field Library Hosts Poetry Slam

Yes, today is tax day. But here are five additional things you should know for today, April 15.

1.) Peekskill Common Council Work Session Scheduled Tonight

2.) Town of Cortlandt Meets Tonight

The Cortlandt town board is scheduled to have a meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. inside town hall, located at 1 Heady St. in Cortlandt Manor. A copy of tonight’s agenda is available here.

Come celebrate National Poetry Month  and National Library Week 4 p.m. today at the Field Library, located at  4 Nelson Ave. in Peekskill.  Share a poem you love (written by you  or your favorite poet) or just be part of the audience.  There will be refreshments, music and a free book for every child.

4.)  Breast Cancer Support Group Meets Today at Hudson Valley Hospital Center

Support Connection is organizing a breast cancer support group tonight at 7 p.m. inside the Hudson Valley Hospital Center, located at 1980 Crompond Rd. in  Cortlandt Manor. Join a group of women as they discuss issues pertaining to all stages of diagnosis, treatment, and post-treatment. Pre-registration required. Call (914)962-6402 or (800)532-4290 to register.

5.) Peekskill Schools to Adopt Budget Tuesday

The Peekskill school board is scheduled to adopt its budget for 2013-2014 during Tuesday’s school board meeting. The public session of the meeting is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. inside the district office building, located at 1031 Elm Street. Check here for a meeting agenda.
