Peekskill Man Arrested for 120 Bags of Heroin; Criminal Trespassing; DWI; Criminal Contempt

Peekskill Man Found with 120 Bags of Heroin

Michael Mizell, a 54-year-old Peekskill resident, was arrested and charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, on March 30 at 6:35 p.m., according to Peekskill Police. Officers working anti-crime patrol stopped Mizell for a traffic violation and allegedly saw a dagger type knife within his reach. Officers had Mizell step out of the vehicle and when he did he dropped a bundle containing 10 bags of heroin on the ground, according to police. Mizell was taken into custody without incident.

Further investigation, which included the assistance of a Westchester County Department of Public Safety K9 officer, resulted in the seizure of 120 additional bags of Heroin which had been secreted in two different locations within the vehicle. Mizell was charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance,  intent to sell, and held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court without bail.

Jason Graham, 35, of Peekskill, was charged with third degree criminal trespassing, a misdemeanor, on March 31 at 5 p.m. at Dunbar Heights, police report.

Officers working Anti-Crime arrested Jason Graham for Criminal Trespass after observing him on the property of Dunbar Heights. Graham has been banned from all Peekskill Housing Authority properties and was subsequently taken into custody without incident. He was released on his own recognizance and is due to appear in Peekskill City Court on April 12 at 11 a.m.

DWI

A 24-year-old Queensbury resident, Jovani Vittorio, was arrested and charged with DWI on the 1600 block of Main Street on April 1 at 2:50 a.m., police report.

Vittorio was stopped after being observed driving the wrong way down a one-way street and found to be operating while under the influence of alcohol. A subsequent chemical test revealed his BAC was .15%. Vittorio was released on his own recognizance and is due to appear in Peekskill City Court on April 26 at 11 a.m.

Peekskill Woman Arrested for Criminal Contempt

On April 2 at 7:15 p.m. Peekskill resident Maria Santiago, 27, was charged with second degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor, on Maplewood Ave. Santiago was charged after being found at the residence of an individual who has an active stay away order of protection against her. She was taken into custody and held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court without bail.
