Peekskill Opens Warming Center

PEEKSKILL, NY — With dangerous wind chills forecast for the Hudson Valley, the city of Peekskill will open a warming center.

City officials said the warming center will be available for residents at the Peekskill Neighborhood Center on Friday and Saturday.

It will be open both days from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There will be free Wi-Fi, officials said.

The forecast for Friday in Peekskill calls for temperatures to rise to near 20 by 11 a.m. and then falling to around 13 during the rest of the day. Wind chill values will be between -5 and 5, due to winds 21 to 24 mph with gusts as high as 38 mph.

The Peekskill Neighborhood Center is at 4 Nelson Ave. in Peekskill.
