2nd Arrest Made In Main Street Peekskill Shooting

Authorities said a woman was taken into custody Friday morning in connection with the shooting.

PEEKSKILL, NY — A second person was arrested after being accused in connection with a shooting on Main Street Friday in Peekskill.

Peekskill police said, around 10:40 a.m. Friday, Shaynna Session, 18, of Peekskill, was charged with two counts of second-degree attempted murder, two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, all felonies.

She was arraigned in Peekskill City Court with bail set at $250,000.

On Wednesday, a 17-year-old accused of being involved in the shooting was arrested.

The City of Peekskill Police Department said the teen, a Peekskill resident whose name was not released, was found to be in custody of the Stamford Police Department in Connecticut for local criminal charges.

With the assistance of the Westchester County District Attorney's Office, a felony complaint for multiple violent felonies from the shooting incident was presented to the court and an arrest warrant was issued.

The teen was remanded to the custody of a correctional facility in Bridgeport, Connecticut, pending an extradition process, police said.

Around 9:15 p.m. Friday, a Honda SUV was traveling east on the 600 block of Main Street in Peekskill with two women inside, police said.

The SUV went through a traffic light at Main Street and Decatur Avenue when, police said, the man began shooting at it with a semi-automatic 9mm handgun.

Bullets from the handgun struck the SUV and the women multiple times, according to authorities.
The driver was struck in the abdomen, and the passenger was hit in both her legs.

Both women were taken to Westchester Medical Center with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

Peekskill police said the 17-year-old's name was not released due to his juvenile status.
