Peekskill Police File More Charges Against Suspect in Car Theft, High Speed Chase
Yorky Santana, 17, of the Bronx, was charged with an grand larceny earlier this week. Santana allegedly stole a Range Rover in Peekskill and led police on a high speed car last month.

A Bronx man who was charged last month with stealing a Range Rover in Peekskill and leading police on a car chase that went through several jurisdictions was charged with grand larceny, a felony, and obstructing emergency medical service, a misdemeanor, earlier this week.

Peekskill police charged Yorky Santana, 17, of the Bronx, with the additional charges Monday. Santana, who is currently being held at Westchester County Jail on a $50,000 cash bail, allegedly committed the crime on March 25 after meeting with the seller of a white 2007 Range Rover, just outside of the Peekskill train station.
Peekskill police were notified after Santana allegedly drove off with the vehicle and state troopers began a chase along Route 9A.

The pursuit went through several jurisdictions, including Peekskill, Cortlandt, Croton-on-Hudson, the Town of Ossining, the Village of Ossining, Briarcliff Manor and New Castle. The chase ended when Santana allegedly crashed his vehicle crashed into a telephone pole on the New Castle side of North State Road, near the Route 100 intersection.
Santana is alleged to have driven as much as over 90 miles per hour.
Santana was charged with a felony count of criminal possession of stolen property at the time of his initial arrest. Additional charge have been filed against him since the arrest.
Santana has future court appearance scheduled at several of the localities involved in the car chase.
