Peekskill Police Find Heroin, Pain Killers During Search

Two Peekskill men are facing drug charges after officials executed a search warrant at a North Division Street residence, officials say.

A joint investigation by the narcotics divisions of the Peekskill Police Department and the Westchester County Police led to the arrests of Miguel Torres, 53, and a 55-year-old.

Officials obtained a search warrant for Torres' residence and executed it. A K9 team from Westchester County Police assisted. Police found heroin and pain killers.

Detectives Anthony Malfitano and Joseph McGann made the arrests at about 2:30 p.m. June 21, police said in a recent statement.

Torres is facing the following charges: fourth-degree criminal possession of a narcotic drug, a felony; seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor; and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony.

The other man was in the apartment at the time, police say. Authorities charged him with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
