2.) Bransom Wins Democratic Endorsement for Westchester County Executive Race
New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bransom secured Democrats the backing after two ballots at Wednesday’s convention in White Plains. He will face Republican incumbent Rob Astorino this November.
3.) Astorino Submits Source of Income Legislation to County Lawmakers
The legislation was part of the county's 2009 federal affordable housing settlement, which requires the construction of 750 affordable housing units in mostly white communities by 2016. Westchester County Executive Robert Astorino was informed by the U.S. Justice Department that he had until Thursday to submit legislation to the board and give his intent to sign it or else the county, and possibly Astorino himself, could be held in contempt and fined. 4.) The Hen Hud Library’s Matinee of the Week: “Argo”
The Hendrick Hudson Library, located on 185 Kings Ferry Rd. in Montrose, is hosting a viewing of the movie “Argo” today at 1:30 p.m. as part of its weekday matinee series. The event is free.
