Police: Peekskill Woman Cashes Forged Check, Bar Busted for Serving Drunk Patron

Charged with Cashing Forged Check

On Feb. 14, a 31-year-old Peekskill resident, Soan Calderon, was arrested by Det. Ralph DAliso and charged with Possession of a Forged Instrument in the second degree (class D Felony). Calderon is accused of cashing a forged check on May 18, 2011 at a Peekskill check cashing business. Calderon was held for arraignment in the City of Peekskill Court.

Bar Busted for Serving Drunk Person

A routine bar check resulted in the issuance of a summons to the Mi Rancho Café, a bar located at 306 Highland Ave in Peekskill. Sgt Mignini and Officer Galusha reported finding a highly intoxicated passed out patron at the bar when they performed their check on Feb. 15. The owner of the business, Raisa Martinez, and the corporation, El Gran Latino Bar Restaurant Inc., were charged with serving an intoxicated person which a violation of the Alcohol Beverage Control Law of New York State.

Traffic Violation Leads to Marijuana Arrest

On Feb. 17 a 47-year-old White Plains woman, Lisa Diggs, was arrested on numerous charges. Officers Basso and Galusha stopped Diggs on a traffic violation when a routine license check revealed her license was suspended. When Diggs exited the vehicle, the officers observed illegal contraband on the driver’s seat. Ms. Diggs was charged with Possession of a Control Substance (A misdemeanor), Aggravated Unlicensed Operation (unclassified misdemeanor) and Possession of Marijuana (a violation).
