Police: Woman Charged for Hosting Underage Drinking Party; Cop Impersonator Busted

Police Impersonator Arrested Following Traffic Stop
A 28-year-old Verplanck resident was arrested for criminal impersonation, a felony, following a traffic stop on Nelson Avenue in Peekskill Jan. 31 at 5:30 p.m. Helder Desa was pulled over during the traffic stop, and then displayed a New York State Police shield and identified himself as a police officer, police say. Further investigation revealed Desa was not a police officer and had obtained the badge from a company on the internet. New York State Police Investigators assisted with the investigation. Desa was released on $750 bail and is due to appear in Peekskill City Court on Feb. 16 at 11 a.m.

39-Year-Old Charged for Hosting Underage Drinking Party, Police Said
Police arrested a 39-year-old Peekskill woman for endangering the welfare of a minor, a misdemeanor, on Feb. 2 at 8 p.m. following an investigation into a party at the woman’s home that occurred on Dec. 31, police said. Jennifer Galliard is accused of hosting a party where an underage guest was served alcohol.

During the investigation, led by Officer Galusha, police identified numerous underage individuals who attended the party and to whom Galliard allegedly served alcoholic beverages. Galliard was released on her own recognizance and is due to appear in Peekskill City Court on Feb. 16 at 11 a.m.
Intoxicated Man Combats Police Responding to Domestic Dispute, Police Said
Officers responding to a domestic dispute call at 10:50 a.m. on Feb. 5 found Albert Jackson, a 48-year-old Peekskill resident, highly intoxicated, police said. Jackson was allegedly combative towards the officers when they arrived and refused to allow them into his home to investigate. Jackson physically attempted to shove the police officers outside and close the door. Officer Agovino was able to prevent Jackson from closing his door on the officers by inserting his police baton in between the door and the doorjamb.
However, Jackson grabbed the baton and bent it. Police back up was called to the scene and helped the officers enter the house. They took Jackson into custody without further incident and charged him with 4th degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor;Â obstruction of governmental administration, a misdemeanor; and disorderly conduct, a violation. Jackson was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court without bail. The arrest occurred on Park Street.
DWI Arrest, Suspended License
Police stopped 37-year-old Peekskill resident, Kevin Fox, for allegedly driving erratically on the 1200 block of Main Street on Feb. 1 at 1:35 a.m. A subsequent investigation revealed he was driving drunk and police arrested him. After the arrest it was revealed that he had a previous DWI conviction in the past 10 years and had been operating with a suspended license for that DWI. Fox refused to submit to a chemical test. He was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court without bail.
DWI
Lianne Ramos, a 24-year-old Cortlandt resident, was charged with driving while intoxicated on N. Division street on Feb. 1 at 11:32 p.m.
Ramos was stopped after police observed her allegedly driving erratically. After failing several field sobriety tests Ramos was arrested for a DWI. Ramos refused to submit to a chemical test and was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court.
Driver with 11 Times Suspended License Busted for Ecstasy
Steven Martin, 29, of Peekskill was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle (AOU), a misdemeanor; 7th degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor on Feb. 3 on Diven Street.
Officers working Anti-Crime Patrol stopped Martin for a vehicle and traffic offense and found that his license had been suspended a total of 11 times. He was taken into custody for AUO and, following his arrest, police found him to be in possession of an ecstasy tablet. Martin was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court without bail.
Busted for Cocaine During Traffic Stop
Daniel Krause, 25, of Poughkeepsie, was charged with 7th degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on Hudson and South Street by Officer C. Woodland on Feb. 4. While investigating a vehicle and traffic offense, Officer Woodland found Krause, who had been stopped for running a stop sign, in possession of a small quantity of cocaine. Krause was released on $250 bail and is due to appear in Peekskill City Court on Feb. 23 at 11 a.m.
Felony Cocaine Arrest
Officers working Anti-Crime Patrol stopped Kevin Creeden, 30, of Peekskill, for a vehicle and traffic offense on feb. 4 and then found more than 500 mg of Cocaine on the suspect, police said. Creeden was stopped on Ringgold Street and charged with aggravated unlicensenced operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, for having a suspended driver’s license. After police arrested him they found him in possession of the cocaine, leading to a 5th degree criminal possession of a controlled substance charge, a felony. He was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court without bail. Officers Carl DeMarco and Matt Basso made the arrest.
