Public Hearing on Hen Hud Budget is Tonight, Friday Deadline for 'This Is Me Foundation' Scholarships Applications

1.) Public Hearing on Hendrick Hudson School District Scheduled Wednesday

The Hendrick Hudson school board has a hearing scheduled for its $72.1 million budget proposal during tonight’s board meeting. The public session of Wednesday’s meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. inside the Hendrick Hudson High School Library, located at 2166 Albany Post Rd. in Montrose.

2.) Lanes Closed on Route 9 Due to Road Work

The state Department of Transportation will be working on Route 9, between Piping Rock Drive in Ossining and Welcher Avenue in Peekskill, until Friday. One lane each on the north and southbound side of Route 9 will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. while the work is taking place.

3.) Book Babies at the Field Library

The Field Library, located at 4 Nelson Ave. in Peekskill, is hosting book babies today at 11 a.m. Book babies is an interactive program for children up to the age 3  and their caregivers.  There will be stories, songs, fingerplays, puppets and play time. No sign-up is necessary.

4.) This Is Me Foundation Local Scholarship Deadline is Friday

If you are a senior at Peekskill High School or Walter Panas High School, your 'This Is Me Scholarship Inspired by Ryan Risco & Cait Chivonne Polhill' applications are due this Friday. Email the foundation at info@thisismefoundation.com for assistance submitting on time. National scholarship applications are due May 24.

5.) The Hen Hud Library’s Matinee of the Week: “Undefeated”

The Hendrick Hudson Library, located on 185 Kings Ferry Rd. in Montrose, is hosting a viewing of the movie “Argo” Thursday at 1:30 p.m. as part of its weekday matinee series. The event is free.
