Putnam Valley Man Charged in Road Rage Incident

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office arrested Carl T. Anderson III, 51, of Putnam Valley, following a road rage incident in Lake Peekskill that took place last month.

Lake Peekskill—A 51-year-old Putnam Valley man was arrested this week after he allegedly assaulted another man outside of a deli in the hamlet of Lake Peekskill.

Deputies  charged Carl T. Anderson III, 51, of Putnam Valley, with second-degree assault, a felony. At about 7 p.m. on March 26, deputies said they received a report of fight in front of the deli, located on Lake Drive in Putnam Valley.

When deputies arrived, they learned that the fight was the result of a road rage incident that took place at the intersection of Oscawana Lake Road and Morrissey Drive. The victim told deputies that he was assaulted following the incident.

Upon further investigation, deputies said they identified Anderson as the suspect and arrested him on Tuesday. Anderson was was arraigned and sent to the Putnam County Jail pending a future court appearance.

The sheriff’s department requests any person who witnessed the incident at the intersection of Oscawana Lake Road and Morrissey Drive, or the incident in front of The Lakeside Deli, to contact the Department Bureau of Criminal Investigation at (845) 225-8060. The incident involved a silver colored SUV and a dark colored, four-door sedan.
