Road Work on Route 9, Peekskill School Budget Hearing Scheduled Today

Five things you should know for today, May 7.

1.) Lanes Closed on Route 9 Due to Road Work

The state Department of Transportation will be working on Route 9 today until Friday, between Piping Rock Drive in Ossining and Welcher Avenue in Peekskill. One lane each on the north and southbound side of Route 9 will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. while the work is taking place.

2.) Public Hearing on Peekskill School Budget Scheduled Today

The Peekskill school board has a hearing scheduled for its $78.4 million budget proposal during tonight’s board meeting. The public session of tonight’s meeting begins 7 p.m. inside the district’s administrative office building, located at 1031 Elm St. in Peekskill.

 3.) Public Hearing on Hendrick Hudson School District Scheduled Wednesday

The Hendrick Hudson school board has a hearing scheduled for its $72.1 million budget proposalduring Wednesday’s board meeting. The public session of Wednesday’s meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. inside the Hendrick Hudson High School Library, located at 2166 Albany Post Rd. in Montrose.

4.) "Shop and Dine Cortlandt" is this Month

 The Town of Cortlandt and the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring "Shop and Dine Cortlandt" for all of May. During the event, Town of Cortlandt businesses will offer specials and discounts. 

5.) Free Diabetes Wellness Workshop at the Hudson Valley Hospital Center

The Hudson Valley Hospital Center, located at 1980 Crompond Rd. in  Cortlandt, is hosting a free workshop today that is open to those living with diabetes, pre-diabetes, caregivers, and family members. All sessions include evidence-based disease management tools and health information presented by clinical experts. The workshop will last from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in dining room B of the hospital.
