State to Complete $2.3M Cortlandt Bridge Project in July

Work being done on the bridge span that carries Route 306 over the Annsville Creek in Cortlandt is one of 15 projects across the state that are being done through the NY Works program.

State officials said that the $2.3 million deck replacement project in Cortlandt for a span that carries northbound traffic on Route 9 over the Annsville Creek and Highland Avenue.

Northbound traffic on Route 9 is currently being diverted to the southbound lane. Westchester County Route 306 is closed and traffic is being directed along a short detour on Roa Hook Road. The work, which began last month, is expected to be completed in July.

The  construction is part one 15 projects that are being done across the state as part of the NY Works program. In all, the projects are expected to cost $44.5 million.

“Through the NY Works program, the State is investing in critical infrastructure projects to repair our roads and bridges while creating jobs and generating local economic activity,” Gov. Andrew Cuomo said in a statement. “These 15 projects which include both rehabilitating and replacing bridges across the state will make traveling in New York safer for drivers and achieve long-term savings for taxpayers.” .
