Sweet Pizza, Stadium Cakes and Football Cookies

Peekskill’s is offering a unique and tasty way to surprise your Super Bowl guests this Sunday. It is called sweetza, a sugary and buttery pizza topped with faux mushrooms, peppers and sausage that look like the real thing but are made out of frosting, butter cream and sugar with cheesecake filling. Owner Rose Sanca uses a  raspberry linzer tart filling for the tomato sauce marshmallow-based meringue to decorate the cake, not fondant, so it tastes as good as it looks.

“Sweet pizzas do more than look good,” Sanca said. “They're an incredible amount of fun as well.”

Sanca added that sweetza is also thin like real pizza, making it a great party food because it is easy to pick up.

Sweetza cakes cost the same as conventional cakes, $55 a half sheet. Homestyle Desserts is also offering Cannoli Chips and Dip, Football Stadium Cakes ($45 each) and football cookies.
