Tax Rate Would Increase by 3.66 Percent Under Peekskill Schools Budget Proposal
Residents would pay $660.35 per $1,000 in assessed value under the budget adopted by the Peekskill school district for the 2013-2014 school year, according to estimates given by school officials Tuesday.

A Peekskill parcel with an assessed value of $10,000 would pay $6,600 in school taxes under the district’s, according to estimates given by Peekskill school officials.
The Peekskill school board adopted a budget proposal for the 2013-2014 school year during  Tuesday’s meeting.

The proposed spending plan has a tax levy of $37,431,286, which represents an increase of about 3.4 percent in this year’s levy.
The tax rate per thousand dollars of assessed value  is expected to increase by 3.66 percent to $660.35, according to Greg Sullivan, assistant superintendent of business for Peekskill schools.

A property under the Basic STAR program would see their tax rates increase by 2.07 percent, while a property under the Enhanced STAR program would see their tax rates decrease by 9.34 percent.
