"We wanted to let the public see what we've done and kick up the profile a little bit. We wanted to let them know we are here and want to service the community," said Melvin Moore, the Treasurer of the Islamic Center. "We have good relations with the community, operating peacefully."
Moore said it was difficult for him to estimate how many members visit the Center but thought it was probably somewhere between 50 and 100. About 13-20 members attend weekly services on Fridays, Moore said.Â
