Third Annual Festa Italiana Organizer Seeking Volunteers
The Peekskill Italian Festival will be held Aug. 10-12 and needs volunteers.

Frank Cimino, organizer of the Peekskill’s Festa Italiana, is throwing the third annual festival this Aug. 10 through 12. The festival will follow the same structure as with some of the same entertainment and possibly some new performers. has already signed up to perform and the is working closely with Cimino and has agreed to promote the festival, most likely with an Italian film festival that week or weekend.
Last year, Cimino estimated that about 20,000 people attended and this year he intends to double that number.
“We are the largest Italian street festival in Westchester,” Cimino said. “I am welcoming challenges to that though.”

All the money raised by the festival goes towards the Assumption Church and towards other local charities.
“I am doing this because I believe in promoting Italian culture and heritage and keep it alive,” Cimino said.

Last year’s sponsors included the Peekskill Business Improvement District, Entergy, White Plains Linen, Burke Oil and Bertolini and Sons.
