2nd Time In A Week, Train Strikes, Kills Person Near Peekskill Station
A person was struck and killed Jan. 30 at the Hudson Avenue crossing.

PEEKSKILL, NY — For the second time in about a week, a person was struck and killed by a train in Peekskill.
The fatal train strike happened shortly after 7 a.m. Monday at the Hudson Avenue crossing in Peekskill, a spokesperson for MTA said.
MTA police and emergency services were notified and responded to the scene.

Service on the Hudson Line was temporarily delayed between Manitou and Peekskill while the death was investigated.
According to the MTA, the 8:29 a.m. train from Poughkeepsie to Grand Central was canceled. Customers were accommodated by the 8:55 a.m. train.

As of 10 a.m., Hudson Line customers were experiencing residual delays of up to 60 minutes.
Around 5:55 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, a train struck someone who was trespassing at the Hudson Avenue crossing in Peekskill, according to an MTA spokesperson.
Hudson Avenue is an at-grade crossing.
