Peekskill: GARDEN CLUB OF PEEKSKILL PLANT SALE
Where: Riverfront Green Park, 50 Hudson Ave. in Peekskill.

Description: The Garden Club of Peekskill holds their annual “Mother’s Day Plant Sale” Saturday from 9 to 3 p.m. at the Riverfront Green Park. A limited pre-sale will be held on Friday, from 4 to 7 p.m., near the entrance to the Riverfront Green Park. The sale will include popular annuals and herbs, from the Bogdanski Nursery on Pine Island. Profits from the sale are used towards the expenses at the Petals Rose Garden on Central Avenue in Peekskill, civic plantings at the Peekskill Gazebo and areas in Cortlandt, Buchanan and Verplanck. The club also awards an annual scholarship to a graduating high school senior.

HVCCA Mezzanine & Reading RoomPriscilla Dobler & Maureen McCourt:“Correlate Knitting Project” Correlate Knitting Project is a community-based work about the present and historical culture of knitting in the Hudson Valley. The project questions the issues of craft versus fine art and what is traditionally represented in the museum, while engaging a larger community of people. For the final element of this project Dobler and McCourt will be doing a knitting performance in the museum.
Peekskill: 5th Dimension Party at Nellie's Cafe

Description: This show at 1008 Main St. is revving up, an ongoing project where artists collaborate to illuminate aspects of the Fifth Dimension. Using Art as a method to research unknown realms, courageous artists plumb the depths of strange and imponderable dimensionality. The show will continue until June 2, when we will host a Grand Finale. On Saturday there will be a 5th Dimension Party at the Gallery, 1008 Main St. Peekskill. Peekskill: The Chip White Ensemble at The BeanRunner

Description: Composer, percussionist, lyricist, and poet, Alan "Chip" White has toured the U.S., Europe, Japan, and the Caribbean, performing with The Houston Person and Etta Jones Quintet, and since 2001 with the Houston Person Quartet. He has appeared on Houston Person’s albums, In a Sentimental Mood, Social Call, and To Etta With Love; Etta Jones' Easy Living and Grammy-nominated Etta Jones Sings Lady Day; and Teddy Edwards' Midnight Creeper, Ladies Man, and Smooth Sailing. His composition, Time Stood Still, is featured on Houston Person’s All Soul.

Description: “Already Gone” is a 4-piece band dedicated to performing the BEST of the Eagles, with perfect harmonies, drums that could (almost) rival Don Henley’s and dueling electric guitars that recreate the great Eagles songs like Hotel California and others.

Description:In this multi-layered digital video, Itziar Barrio takes a line borrowed from popular music as the departure point for an elaborate exploration of performance, language, politics, and sexuality. Drawing its title from the chorus of British pop star Adele’s 2011 smash single, “Rolling In The Deep,” the work pays homage to the global appeal of Adele’s music while inquiring into the myth-like notion of total fulfillment.

Description: ArtsALIVE! presents a showcase of student films of various genres, including documentaries, music videos, narrative shorts, and animations. The student film festival committee spearheaded the film festival and has been instrumental in every aspect of planning the event. The keynote speaker is Steve Martino, director of Blue Sky Studio’s Peanuts, Doctor Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who, and Ice Age 4.
Mt. Kisco: Bird Banding at Westmoreland

Description: Join Westmoreland and Marsh Memorial Sanctuary staff for a bird banding session at Westmoreland Sanctuary. See live wild songbirds in the hand as we safely capture, band, and release birds during the program. Banding helps to further our knowledge of bird biology and contribute to habitat conservation. Meet in Westmoreland’s nature center. All ages welcome.

Description: Broadway stars will be stopping by Pleasantville this weekend to perform in Arc Stages' fundraising gala. Kids from the Little Village Playhouse will also be performing. Pleasantville Mayor Peter Scherer will be hosting the gala. The evening includes cocktails, dinner and entertainment.
Rivertowns: Riverkeeper Sweep
Place: Various locations along the Hudson River including Tarrytown's RiverWalk Park and Sleepy Hollow's Kingsland Point Park
