PELHAM, NY — There's bad news for artistic types in southern Westchester, but there could be a silver lining in store.

Crafters, DIY decorators and home designers might soon have to travel a little bit farther to get to the nearest Michaels store, but workers tell Patch their employer has plans to open a new store just across the street in the Post Road Plaza near ShopRite.

Michaels Stores didn't immediately respond to a request for comment on any plans to open a new store nearby or the exact closing date of the Pelham Manor Shopping Plaza store (but a sign in the picture framing department, apologizing for any inconvenience, ended with, "We look forward to seeing you when we reopen").
