Pelham Middle School Jazz Band Performs Winter Concert

Pelham Middle School Jazz band performed their winter concert on Jan. 25th with sounds of Dean Sorenson, Sandy Fedtstein, and Frank Loesser.

From Pelham School District: The Pelham Middle School jazz and concert bands, under the direction of Andrew Van Bochove, performed their winter concerts on Jan. 25. The jazz band kicked off with Dean Sorenson and Bruce Pearson’s “Jammin’ With Charlie,” followed by “Baby, It’s Cold Outside,” by Frank Loesser and arranged by Rick Stitzel. The band then played Loesser’s “Blues for a New Day,” arranged by Mike Steinell and concluded with Josef Zawinul’s “Mercy, Mercy, Mercy,” arranged by Robert Woods.

The sixth grade concert band played ”Space Shuttle Rock,” by Sandy Feldstein and John O’Reilly, and “Rocky Mountain Romp,” by Balmages. The seventh grade band played “Tweet, Boom, Crash,” by John Edmondson, and “Incantation and Ritual,” by Balmages. The eighth grade band then played “Morpheus,” by Robert W. Smith, and “An English Folk Setting,” by Edmondson.
