Man Accused of Speeding, Weaving Due in Court

Wyandanch resident was arrested on the LIE in June.

A Wyandanch man accused of speeding and weaving through traffic at more than 100 miles per hour is scheduled to return to court July 20.

Jason A. Dyer, 23, was in Nassau First District Court Monday for a hearing.

pulled him over on the Long Island Expressway in Plainview June 17  after seeing him weave through traffic at speeds exceeding 110 mph.

Officers from the were responding to a call when they saw Dyer, driving east on the LIE in a 1996 Nissan Maxima. Dyer was clocked traveling in excess of 110 miles per hour, police said, changing lanes numerous times in an unsafe manner and failing to signal each time.

The officers managed to pull over Dyer in the vicinity of Round Swamp Road, Exit 48, in Plainview shortly after 7 a.m. During the traffic stop, police determined Dyer was driving with a suspended license. He was placed under arrest without incident.

Dyer is charged with a felony, reckless endangerment, and other charges, including reckless driving, aggravated unlicensed operation and several traffic law violations.
