Nassau Police Warn Elderly Residents Of Phone Scam

Nassau County Police are warning residents about a phone scam that is targeting the elderly.

According to authorities, elderly residents are being financially targeted by individuals who attempt to manipulate recipients into sending them money to legitimate entities.

The phone scammers often mention kidnapped or arrested family members.

Nassau Police says legitimate companies will never ask you to send gift cards, iTunes cards or Home Depot Gift Cards.

Police say to hang up and call 911 if you receive a similar call.
