• Northwell nurses file strike notice (newsday.com) — Nurses at Northwell’s Plainview Hospital have filed a 10-day strike notice and could walk off the job on January 12 if they don’t reach a new contract agreement. Along with colleagues at Syosset and Huntington, they’re pushing for safer staffing ratios and say workloads have become unsustainable, while negotiations with Northwell remain slow.
