Plainview Jewish Center Celebrates 60th Anniversary
More than 150 people celebrate 60 years in Plainview with song and celebration.
The Plainview Jewish Center celebrated its 60th Anniversary Sunday, drawing more than 150 to the celebration of six decades in Plainview.
A brunch was held followed by a "Walk Down Memory Lane” held in the Temple. The event included songs by a children's choir, the blowing o the Shofar and a video presentation.
Public officials were joined by the synagogue's leadership in commemorating the event. The PJC's leadership included Shea Z. Lerner, chairman of the board, Bruce Elowsky, president and Rabbi Steve Conn.

Also among them were Nassau County Legislator Judy Jacobs, D-Woodbury, who presented a proclamation from Nassau County.
“This was a very moving and special tribute to a wonderful Temple which has been the source of joy and comfort to so many in the community for so many reasons," Jacobs said.
