Plainview-Old Bethpage Grads Should 'Live In Present': Valedictorian
The high school's 33rd announcement commencement address was held on June 23.

PLAINVIEW, NY — Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK High School held its 33rd annual commencement on Sunday.
The Class of 2024 was led by Salutatorian Matthew Kang, who said, "Going forward, I hope that all of us do the best we can to demonstrate compassion and care for those around us."
Valedictorian Safal Kamath told those in attendance at Hofstra University that they should "live in the present, because you never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory."

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mary O’Meara: "By focusing on who you want to become rather than what you want to become, you will build a collection of days that will result in a life of integrity and a legacy that inspires others. Your journey is just beginning, go forth and make it extraordinary."
The senior choir performed "A Parting Blessing" and the symphonic band performed the symbolic "Pomp and Circumstance."
