Plainview-Old Bethpage Student Named Intel Semifinalist
High school senior among only 300 nationwide to receive honor.

A Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School student was among 43 Long Island high school seniors named semifinalists in the prestigious Intel Science Talent Search.
Arielle Hope Gabalski, 17, got the news on Wednesday about being in an elite pool of 300 students nationwide to be selected as semifinalists.
From this pool, 40 finalists are then invited to Washington, D.C,. in March to participate in final judging, display their work to the public, meet with notable scientists, and compete for three top awards of $150,000 each.

Gabalski’s research project is entitled “The Induction of Insight through the Priming of the Right Superior Anterior Temporal Gyrus.”
