Police ID Woman Who Died After Plainview Crash

The 26-year-old was pronounced dead at a local hospital, Nassau police said.

PLAINVIEW, NY — Nassau police have released the name of the woman who died in the first of two fatal crashes in Nassau on Friday.

The woman has been identified as 26-year-old Anna Crego of Brentwood, police said Saturday night.

Police said Crego was behind the wheel of a 2007 white Infinity traveling Northbound on the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway near Exit 10 in Plainview when it collided with a white 2017 CRV Infinity driven by a 68-year- old woman, according to police.

Both drivers were taken by police ambulances to a local hospital, police said.

The 26-year-old was seriously injured and was pronounced dead by a hospital physician, police said, adding that the 68-year-old woman sustained minor injuries and is currently in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.

A second woman died after her motorcycle collided with a van in Garden City at around 5 p.m.
