Uncle Giuseppe's To Hire More Than 1K For LI Stores: Hiring Event This Saturday
The family-owned grocer is having a hiring event on Saturday at all of its LI locations.

MELVILLE, NY — The family-owned and Italian-specialized grocer is looking to hire more than 1,000 people across its Long Island stores, and will be having hiring events every month with its first one on Saturday, Nov. 1.
Uncle Giuseppe's has seven locations on Long Island and is in the process of adding three more in the future. Most stores will interview from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the East Meadow and Port Washington locations will interview from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
President of Uncle Giuseppe's Mike Nelson said he hopes this hiring event will give jobs to Long Islanders and allow them to grow within the company.

He said these hiring events allow people looking for a job to "Walk in, interview on the spot, and hopefully get a job offer on the spot."
Each of its stores has anywhere from 200 to 250 employees, and with the holiday season coming up, they have several openings at all of its locations, especially the new stores that are set to open.

He said the company cares about the community and partners with Long Island Harvest.
"We donate pretty regularly, and we have more local food drives where we partner with local charities," he said. "We try to keep it local in the store's area."
He wants to be able to give back by providing jobs.
"We have full kitchens, so this is definitely a great job for people with culinary backgrounds," he said. "It's a great career opportunity for somebody who is considering maybe hospitality or restaurants. We're looking for future store leaders."
