1 Dead In Taconic Parkway Crash In Mount Pleasant

A driver turning left across the parkway hit a motorcyclist, state police said.

MOUNT PLEASANT, NY — A local motorcyclist died in a crash on the Taconic State Parkway Sunday in Mount Pleasant.

New York State police said their preliminary investigation indicated that a Honda Pilot headed north on the Taconic made a left turn onto Cleveland Street into the path of a motorcycle headed south.

Jason R. Brand, 19, was unable to avoid the Honda driven by Ismael Lopez, 26 of White Plains. He was thrown from his Yamaha.

Brand, a Mount Pleasant resident, was transported to Westchester Medical Center where he died, police said.
