15-Year-Old In Car When Driver Arrested For Felony DWI On Taconic: NYSP
The Port Chester man was found to have a BAC of 0.08 percent, after being arrested in the Town of Mount Pleasant, according to state police.

MOUNT PLEASANT, NY — A Port Chester man was arrested in the Town of Mount Pleasant for potentially putting the life of a child at risk, according to state police.
On August 31, around 6:48 p.m., New York State Police said that a trooper from Hawthorne stopped a vehicle traveling south on the Taconic State Parkway, in the Town of Mount Pleasant.
While speaking with the driver, 40-year-old Jose A. Aliaga-Velasquez, of Port Chester, the trooper noticed signs of intoxication, according to police.

The trooper also found a 15-year-old child was in the vehicle at the time of the stop.
Aliaga-Velasquez was arrested and taken for processing, where his blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was found to be 0.08 percent, police said.

The child was released to a sober third party.
Aliaga-Velasquez was charged with felony aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger, misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, and other vehicle/traffic violations.
He was issued traffic tickets and was scheduled to appear in the Town of Mount Pleasant Court.
