ASPCA Gives Briarcliff Shelter $5K Grant to Rescue Puppies

A $5,000 grant from the ASPCA will help Briarcliff Manor's SPCA of Westchester relocate puppies from high-kill shelters.

"We are very grateful to the ASPCA for their generosity," said Shannon Laukhuf, the SPCA's executive director, in a statement.

The SPCA is a no-kill shelter and has been collaborating with groups in states like North and South Carolina, Mississippi and California since 2008 to bring puppies on death row to Briarcliff Manor for adoption.

"By providing this assistance, the ASPCA supports our efforts to save the lives of puppies and young adult dogs who would otherwise be euthanized in shelters that do not have the resources to care for the number of animals they take in," Laukhuf said. "Our rescue/transport program allows us to find permanent homes for these beautiful, healthy dogs."
