Briarcliff Man Charged with Heroin Possession in Pleasantville

Police said the 26-year-old had five bags appearing to contain heroin.

A call reporting an erratic driver on the Saw Mill River Parkway in the Pleasantville area led to the arrest of a Briarcliff Manor man May 15.

According to Westchester County Police Spokesperson Kieran O'Leary, a caller told police the vehicle eventually pulled into a Bedford Road parking lot after exiting the parkway.

A police officer "arrived at the lot at 6:18 p.m. and observed a man getting out of the vehicle in question. The driver dropped several small glassine envelopes containing white powder," O'Leary said. "The driver was also swaying back and forth and having trouble maintaining his balance."

Police arrested 26-year-old Robert Zajicek of Briarcliff Manor and "recovered the five glassine bags which were stamped 'Game On' and appeared to contain heroin," he said.

"During a search of the vehicle, several empty glassine envelopes and two spoons with drug residue were also found," according to O'Leary.

Zajicek has been charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree.

Zajicek appeared in Pleasantville Village Court on May 28. During that appearance, his case was adjourned to June 11.
