Briarcliff Manor Police Blotter: Car Strikes Telephone Pole; Payroll Larceny

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the Briarcliff Manor Police Department from Dec. 3 to 16, 2012.

Tuesday, Dec. 11

4:55 p.m. — Police were notified of a two-car accident on Route 9A. Read more about the incident here.

2:36 p.m. — A Revolutionary Road resident reported damage to a stone wall in front of the home. The caller told police it appeared a truck had struck the wall sometime overnight. Police filed a report.

2:01 p.m. — Police dispatched fire and ambulance units to the Taconic State Parkway where there was a report of an accident with injured parties. No further information was available.

12:20 p.m. — A Holbrook Road resident reported he had given a sum of money to a contractor who had failed to complete the agreed-upon work. Police advised the man the matter is civil.

10:49 a.m. — A gas line leak was reported on Argyle Place. Con Edison was notified.

Monday, Dec. 10

6:55 p.m. — A Hemlock Road resident told police that over the past few weeks, someone had cut the cords to his holiday decoration lights multiple times. A report was filed.

4:56 p.m. — Police responded to the scene of a one-car accident at the intersection of Chappaqua Road and Burns Place. Police stated a vehicle appeared to have slid off the road and struck a telephone pole. The driver was transported to the hospital with facial injuries.

Friday, Dec. 7

12:53 p.m. — One vehicle was involved in a minor accident on Van Lu Van Road in the village. The driver said she did not wish to complete an accident report.

Thursday, Dec. 6

12:26 p.m. — The manager of Dunkin Donuts notified police there may have been a payroll-related larceny. When police responded to the scene, they said the manager was no longer at the business. The case was referred to the detective.

Wednesday, Dec. 5

12:32 a.m. — Police were notified of a minor car fire on the Taconic State Parkway. The Briarcliff Manor Fire Department was dispatched to the scene.
