Briarcliff Manor Police Blotter: Toothbrush Scare; Car Break-In

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the Briarcliff Manor Police Department from June 3 — 9, 2013.

Sunday, June 9

6:35 p.m. — Police received a report of a wallet stolen from a Pleasantville Road business. The case remains under investiation.

Saturday, June 8

7:06 p.m. — Police stopped a vehicle on Route 9 and arrested the driver, a 27-year-old Croton resident, for allegedly driving a vehicle with a suspended registration. He was processed and released at police headquarters with a returnable court date of June 25.

10:46 a.m. — The Briarcliff Manor Fire Department was dispatched to a Maple Road residence to assist the homeowner with flooding in the basement.

Thursday, June 6

2:16 p.m. — An Elizabeth Court resident reported a suspicious noise coming from a suitcase at the home. Police responded and reported the noise was coming from an electronic toothbrush that had turned on.

11:30 a.m. — Police stopped a vehicle on Route 9 and arrested the driver, a 24-year-old Garrison man, for allegedly driving with a suspended license. He was processed at police headquarters and released on $100 bail with a returnable court date of June 25.

Wednesday, June 5

8:25 p.m. — A Briarbrook Lane resident reported someone had entered a vehicle parked in the home's driveway overnight. The resident reported nothing appeared to be missing, but the inside of the unlocked vehicle appeared to have been gone through.

1:56 p.m. — A Long Hill Road West resident reported to police that someone had attempted to access a personal bank account without permission. The alleged attempted identity theft was assigned to the detective for further investigation.
